Mississippi- “An 18-year-old pregnant woman has been killed in a collision with an 18 wheeler log truck in Yazoo County. It happened Tuesday afternoon on Highway 3 at Gordon Avenue, near the federal prison.” It has been reported that there were five people in the car when the log truck crashed into the passenger side. All five passengers were taken to the hospital, unfortunately, 18 year old Kaylah Hall and her unborn child did not survive. As live news coverage and sources reported, the driver did not appear to be injured and the cause of the accident is still under investigation.

As the growing number of truck accidents and car crashes increase throughout the United States, especially the Northern States, such Michigan, it is always wise to speak with an Attorney, such as Attorney Stu Shafer with a thriving practice in Lansing, Michigan. Stu Shafer’s knowledge of the law is double sided as an excellent Defense Attorney, however his roots come from being the Assistant Prosecutor of Ingham County, back in 1975.

Had the driver been intoxicated while driving his 18 wheeler, the charges he may be facing could be extensible and very serious. If a person is killed as a result of drinking and driving, then the penalties can be truly life altering and horrific for both sides. The State legislatures and Court systems in Michigan and most other States, are increasing the punishments every year due to the increasing number of deaths and driving while intoxicated DWI cases. If you or someone you care about ever has to experience the unfortunate travesty that a DWI or DUI causes be sure to call Attorney Stu Shafer, first.
