Long term marriages can end too. It is possible, just ask Steven Weber from the show Wings. After 17 years of marriage he and his wife have decided to split up.
Steven Weber and his wife Juliette Lesley Hohnen have decided to end their marriage. The two had married back in 1995 and have recently filed for divorce as of last month. They cited “irreconcilable differences” as the cause of divorce in the papers filed.
This is Weber’s second marriage. He was once married to actress Fin Carter prior to being married to Hohnen. Hohnen and Weber share two children together; they have two sons who are 9 and 12 years of age.
Hohnen is seeking joint custody of their sons and also requests that she gets spousal support from Weber. There have been no further details released as of yet.
Long term marriages can be doomed for divorce just as any other marriage. It takes a lot to keep a marriage happy, healthy and lasting. Weber and Hohnen had just reached their point of breaking. It can happen to any couple.
Is your long term marriage ending? There can be so much to think about and consider when you have come to the point of divorce after such a long marriage. You and your partner have been through many years together and this can make a divorce much more complicated. There may be children involved as well as investments, possessions, pets, financial shares. These will all need to be divided and it can be a very long process.
If divorce is inevitable, contact your local Lansing, MI divorce attorney. They are experienced in handling all kinds of divorce cases, even long term marriages resulting in divorce. They will handle your case with the greatest of care and help you get through this stressful time in your life. They want to make the divorce go as smoothly as possible.
When you begin the divorce process, your attorney will need to ask you all the details necessary to build your case. They will then have you and the other parties try to come to agreements with a mediator present. This doesn’t always work, but it is required to put forth the effort. It will also shorten the divorce process if you and your estranged spouse can come to an agreement on certain issues such as child custody.
Should you and the other party not agree upon anything or even certain matters, it will be carried out amongst a series of trials. This is when the attorneys will try to sort out the matters that cannot be agreed upon. Eventually, a judge or magistrate will begin to divide the possessions, determine child custody and other such issues like spousal support.
